Get more self-confidence with your new bright smile. Many people are choosing Zoom Chairside Whitening System (Zoom!®) to carefully, quickly and efficiently whiten their teeth. Zoom!® uses the latest advanced dental equipment with effective chemical formulas. Get painless bleaching experience and lasting results.
Teeth are constantly being stained or discolored due to the consumption of red wine, coffee, tea, soda or by tobacco use. Yellowing and graying of the teeth can also be caused by some prescription medication and by natural aging of the teeth.
There are many whitening products that can be purchased easily over the counter, such as whitening toothpastes, at home stripes and at home whitening gels. All of these over-the-counter products do not last long, nor are they effective.
There are many benefits with Zoom!®, such as:
All teeth are whitened at the same time
Quick treatment times
Long lasting outcome
Eliminate stains on crowns, veneers, and other restorations
Approved procedure and treatment
Sessions are completed by an experienced professional
It is imperative to consult with a dentist prior to starting a bleaching routine. Women who are pregnant or lactating, should not use any bleaching treatments.
How’s does it work?
Zoom!® is a bleaching procedure which reduces the sensitivity of the dentin and enamel of the teeth. Zoom!® uses hydrogen peroxide variables (25%), that is the working ingredient in the gel. Hydrogen peroxide is put on the teeth and the peroxide reacts by turning into small oxygen bubbles. When the bubbles appear, the removal of staining and yellowing begins.
Next, a light with specialized mercury halide is used to react with the gel and quickens the bleaching procedure. The light has a special infrared filter that helps to lower the heat (and sensitivity) on the teeth. The teeth stay strong during and after the procedure.
Just like any other whitening process, post-treatments for every individual are different depending on how bad the staining and health of the teeth. Discussion with the dentist before the Zoom!® treatment will give you a better idea what to expect post-treatment. Zoom!® can only be used on healthy teeth and gums. If you have gum or tooth issues, these need to be resolved prior to starting Zoom!® treatment.
Consultation with the dentist will give you a better understanding of the step-by-step treatment. On procedure day, the dentist will perform a deep cleaning (prophylaxis) to clean out any plaque or debris. Next, you will be given eyewear to protect your eyes from the mercury halide light, and splashguards to protect your clothes from the bleaching solution.
Here is a quick outline of the procedure:
Cheek retractors are placed to expose the entire surface of the teeth
Gums are painted or covered to reduce sensitivity
Dentists will apply the Hydrogen Peroxide gel to the teeth
Halide light will be used to start gel stimulation. The specialized Zoom!® light is placed to work on all the teeth instantly
After 15 minutes, gel is removed and mouth is rinsed
Second application of gel is applied for another 15 minutes
Gel will be removed, mouth will be cleaned again
Final treatment of the gel is applied for another 15 minutes
Removal of gel and cleansing of mouth for the last time
Dentists recommend to floss once a day, brush with anti-sensitivity tooth paste twice a day, and use the retreatment Zoom!® Weekender to prevent discoloration and staining again. It is imperative to follow these post treatment steps to keep your pearl-white smile!
